Fiddling around for a benefit in Media
Eileen Ivers & Immigrant Soul will appear at the Media Theatre on Saturday, Jan. 10 at 8 p.m. in one performance to benefit the Media Youth Center. Ivers, the nine-time All-Ireland Fiddle Champion, comes to town with her band, playing a compelling mix of African and Latin percussion and bass, displaying the use of traditional Irish instruments and soulful American vocals. Ivers has appeared with the London Symphony Orchestra, the National Orchestra, at the Kennedy Center, with the Boston Pops as well as being the musical star of "Riverdance."
