Visit Media PA (visitmediapa.com) is operated by the Media Business Authority (“MBA,” “we,” “us”), 301 N Jackson Street, 2nd Floor, Media, PA 19063. We promote businesses, events and visitor experiences in Media, Pennsylvania.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our website, events calendar, business directory, online shop and forms, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the site, you agree to this policy.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Shop orders: name, billing and shipping address, email, phone and order details. Payment card data is entered directly with PayPal. We do not store full card numbers.
• Volunteer sign-ups: name, email, phone, availability and any details you choose to share.
• Event and business listing submissions: contact name, organization, street address or mailing address, email, phone, event or business details, and images you upload.
• Messages to us: anything you send to info@MediaBusinessAuthority.com or through a contact form.
• Newsletter sign-ups: email address and name.

Information collected automatically

• Device and browser type, IP address, approximate location (city level), pages viewed, referring site and time on site.
• Cookies and similar technologies, described in Section 5.

3. How we use information

• Process and ship shop orders, send receipts and handle returns.
• Coordinate volunteers for events and community programs.
• Review, publish and update events and business directory listings.
• Respond to questions and requests.
• Send newsletters or event updates you have opted into.
• Understand site traffic and improve content, navigation and performance.
• Protect the site against spam, fraud and misuse, and meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Events, listings and partner submissions

Information submitted for an event or business listing is meant to be public. Event names, dates, venues, descriptions, images, and the business contact details you provide (address, phone, hours of operation, website, social links) may appear on VisitMediaPA.com and be shared on our social media channels.

Personal contact details you give us only for follow-up (for example, an organizer’s personal email or phone) are not published unless you ask us to. Please do not include another person’s personal information or photos without their permission.

Events may be hosted by third parties. When you register or buy tickets through an organizer’s link, that organizer’s privacy policy applies.

5. Cookies, analytics and third-party services

Cookies are small files stored in your browser. We use them to keep your shopping cart working, remember preferences, and measure how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the shop may not work without them.

These providers process data on our behalf or under their own terms. Embedded content may set its own cookies when you view it. To opt out of Google Analytics, use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

6. Sharing and disclosure

We share personal information only:

• With service providers listed above that help us run the site, shop, forms and email.
• With event organizers or partner businesses when you ask us to connect you, or when you volunteer for their event.
• With the Borough of Media or partner organizations for joint community programs, limited to what the program needs.
• When required by law, subpoena or public records obligations, or to protect the rights and safety of MBA, our users or the public.
• In aggregate or de-identified form (for example, total visitor numbers) that does not identify you.

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for third-party advertising.

7. Email communications and your choices

We send marketing emails (event roundups, newsletters, promotions) only if you sign up. Every message includes an unsubscribe link, or you can email info@MediaBusinessAuthority.com. Order confirmations and replies to your requests are transactional and will still be sent after you unsubscribe.

8. Data retention and security

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law:

• Order records: 7 years for tax and accounting purposes.
• Volunteer and form entries: 2 years after the event or program.
• Directory and event listings: while active, then archived or deleted on request.
• Email list: until you unsubscribe.

The site uses HTTPS encryption, payments are handled by a PCI-compliant processor, and admin access is limited to authorized staff and our web vendor. No online system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights

You may ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop using it for marketing. Email info@MediaBusinessAuthority.com and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity, and we may keep some records where the law requires it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state’s privacy law.

10. Children’s privacy

This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it. Volunteers under 18 should sign up with a parent or guardian’s permission.

11. Links to other websites

Our directory, events calendar and footer link to businesses, venues and partners such as Media Borough, Media Theatre and Visit Delco PA. We are not responsible for their privacy practices; please review their policies.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site or the law changes. We will post the new version here with a revised effective date. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
